Hi, I'm looking for a book and thought someone in this forum might point me in the right direction.

I'm looking for a hardcover version of the book 'Ulysses', I'm looking for something that I hope will last me and offer a pleasing reading experience. I already have the vintage paperback version with Bloom (?) on the cover, so I'm looking to buy another (high-quality) copy to reread the book.

However, I've found something odd. When trying to find a hardcover edition of this book, I've only found the Modern Library and Everyman's library editions, both of which I think doesn't match what I'm looking for. Actually, I did see another, but I'm ignoring it all completely because a review said it was poorly typed (copy/paste from Gutenberg, lacking italics, etc.).

I've been thinking then, about getting the $50 facsimile of the text (includes the uncorrected 1922 text). Is that a good idea? If not, I was thinking of the Gabler hardcover edition which will probably cost me even more. It is strange that a book like this does not have more hardcover versions that don't cost $100+. Does anyone have any knowledge to offer, or a quality version (physically, that is) that they'd like to reccomend?

1998 -1999 approximately. Look on Abe.com or any of the used book web site. One listed as in Fine Condition should be close to a new book. The price should be around $100 or less. The Folio Society is a London based club. You can check their site and see if any copies are available, but I doubt it. I have a copy, bur I don't want to sell it. Check with Biblio, E-Bay etc. Google Ulysses published by Folio Society. If you can find one, don't be afraid to spend $100. Fine books cost money, but if you take care of it, you'll be able to sell it for more than you paid for it.

Easton Press published one in two leather bound volumes, but these are hard to find. I don't know what they are selling for right now. If they ever reprint it, the two volumes will go for $150 -$200.
