The concept Winston brings up about the prole being human and everyone else is not human is pretty significant. Winston says that the proles never lost their emotions and feelings, but everyone else is the same, they are brainwashed and don't feel emotions. Winston has hope in the proles, not a lot but has some hope none the less, and he realizes the fact that BB controls almost every aspect of people's lives except the proles. Yeah BB has some influence on their lives but they never lost their feelings and emotions like everybody else did.

I believe that BB doese control the proles thoughts, but because they will believe every thing the party says they find little reason to controll their emotions.

i think that the proles don't have emotions and feelings to the extent that you think. the proles don't have much so all their emotions and feelings are based on what they have. all of their energy is focused on attaining that which they don't have. BB did this to the proles on purpose. they give the proles nothing so they focus on the little things and lose sight on what's really important. There never was hope with them. Winston had false hope or blind hope because he was desparate for BB to fall.
