I am confused about the party's view on sex. It is clear that they look at it with disgust and think that the sex instinct should totally be eliminated, but what I don't understand is why it is okay to make pornosec when they are so against the act. Please respond.

Student. You must realize that Pornosec is for production of pornography is exclusively for the proles to degrade them. Pornography is 'dirty' and is degrading. Orwell implements Pornosec to show the dehumanization and the division of classes in 1984. Proles are not under surveillance so to keep order they appease the proles needs to keep them at bay so that they do not cause an uprising. As for everyone else, BB makes sex taboo for the party members. It is made taboo through the Youth Anti-sex league. Pornosec is not made for the members of the party.

With regard to the party's view on sex, the quickest and easiest interpretation is their desire to control every aspect of the people's lives.

Additionally, the party is also seeking to remove all emotional bonds that might exist between people. The strongest of those bonds; between and husband and wife. It is just another example of the systematic manner in which this government is making its people dead inside.

One could also argue that Big Brother is seeking to direct any remaining emotions toward him - Love me and no other!
