Is there really Though Police or is it just something to scare people? I mean the people have freedom to do whatever they want because there are no but they are stopped out of fear. No one knows who the Thought Police are and no one has ever seen them. So how do people know if they are real or not just from hear-say?

I believe that there are really Thought Police because people have been vaporized. A better question would be are there really thought crimes or are they assumptions made by brainwashed pary members?

The thought police is real because Mr. Charrington is part of the thought police which is proven at the end of the novel. Mr. Charrington wants someone to rent the room up stairs of his antique store so he can turn them in if they are doing something wrong. Mr Charrington knows there is a telescreen and at the end said you are dead coping Winston when he was up in the room with Julia. Then the thought police come in and take them away after beating them.

I think the Thought Police are real because eventually in the novel Winson is captured by the Thought police.
