The three slogans in the novel are, War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is Strength. Why does Orwell make these three slogans oxy morans in the novel? What is the point to it?

They are easy to understand if you think about them well. War with an outside country keeps people peaceful in your own country, you become a slave to freedom because it demands you to defend it, and ignorance is strength because when you don't know everything, you can't revolt against it. Your only option is to accept what you are told.

Bang on. It's also explained very well in Goldstein's book, so keep reading!
