The absence of truth
does not make a lie,
for a lie is the truth
disfigured, bruised,
vindictive. A lie
is a truth
that has come here
to die

Nice perspective. The sin of omission begone!

Or is a truth a lie untold?

Interesting philosophy. It makes me think of politicians.

But doesn't some truths do just that, disfigure and bruise? What about those lies that are told to protect? Prince I beg you, let those lies live!

I came across a German word not long ago, “lebenslüge,” the awkward Google translation of which is: “As a life performance will lie any means, that as true as unfounded or absurd they may be, a human being makes bearable, and from which he draws the courage to live.”
Synonymous, it says, with “white lie.” So, yeh, Haunted, some lies just have to live...

Au contraire, they highlight the slenderness of your waist-line!

Maybe so but I did write a poem once about catching sight of that part of a woman's anatomy that was like a melody that haunted me the rest of the day.
(The woman in question was fully dressed, a stranger, seen on the street)
