Hello all

I have chosen this book by Paul Harding as a novel to analyse and write a 4000 word essay about (part of my school program).

Who has read this novel? what stood out about it that you think is a good theme/aspect to analyse?

Thanks

I read Tinkers a few weeks ago. I did finish it, however I did skim a lot, as I was not interested in the workings of clocks. I enjoyed reading about our main character's father, and his life story.

am reading at the moment.

I think the narrative style- slipping from realistic to poetic language- is interesting. Reminds me a bit of The Bone People and some early moderns like Joyce. Also the chopping up of sequence and character.

That said, very early days. I came on hoping for some critical analysis as it seems the kind of novel that is either full of interesting symbolism and subtext, which is great if it all works, but a bunch of w**k if it doesn't. Hop#ing the former.
