Dreams
Accept this kiss upon the lips
And watch the blood as it drips.
Let it drip!
Down the wretched dreams
And un-established seams
That plead to pull the strings
Of cherished, thought filled dreams.
You are not who pray,
On this one tormented day
To escape the prison
Of these chains
And clasp the once neglected reins.
Is it that I have been,
In a thought or in a theme,
A convict of the screams,
A captive of the seams
Of cherished, thought filled dreams?
Dare you not deem
Me a prisoner of these dreams,
A jailbird of this scheme
That you implore to be a dream!
How few yet how you crawl
Beyond the newborn sprawl,
Amid the enthralling beam
Of this old forgotten dream.
Oh lord! Can there not be
An escape from the alluring Marie?
Oh lord! Can you not disarm
Me from her seducing charm?
Can you not rid me of the screams
Of these cherished, thought filled dreams?
Accept this kiss upon the lips
And watch the blood as it drips.
Let it drip!
Down the wretched dreams
And un-established seams
That plead to pull the strings
Of cherished, thought filled dreams.
You are not who pray,
On this one tormented day
To escape the prison
Of these chains
And clasp the once neglected reins.
Is it that I have been,
In a thought or in a theme,
A convict of the screams,
A captive of the seams
Of cherished, thought filled dreams?
Dare you not deem
Me a prisoner of these dreams,
A jailbird of this scheme
That you implore to be a dream!
How few yet how you crawl
Beyond the newborn sprawl,
Amid the enthralling beam
Of this old forgotten dream.

Oh lord! Can you not disarm
