Born in the womb
A warm, secure place.
Months of such pleasures,
Then forced into this world.
Oh how I would return to the womb
Things were simple
Now life is full of strife,
Bare of simple pleasures.
My entrance into this world
Were my eyes open and alert,
Or squinting cuz of light
Heart beating in fright.
I must have had some thoughts
As to what this was all about.
And if I did I probably wished
To return my cozy origin.
Life comes at us hard
We grow into whatever is shaped
Sometimes not as we want to be
But what we are meant to be.
