By new i mean anything from 2009 and 2010 :)
I am mostly interested in psychological stories, if the horror is imagined then all the better, but i would try anything reasonably good.

'Antichrist', 'Let the right one in', 'Diary of the Dead', just off the top of my head.
Look to see if there are any new Korean ghost movies too, they are usually pretty good.

Is Let me In better than Let the right one in?

I'll second Antichrist. Top choice.
Also, check out Pontypool. A very unorthodox and psychological zombie movie.
Grace also happens to be an interesting zombie movie with psychological elements.
Orphan was pretty good.

I thought Shutter Island was quite good.

Let the right one in is the same film as let me in. :)
Pretty good

I'd suggest Shrooms (exceeded expectations).
I also back the other poster's suggestions of Let the Right One In, go for the foreign version. In fact on that note also watch the original Spanish version of Quarantine(REC), and King of the Hill(El Rey de Montana). Spain has come out with some good'uns lately.
Edit: Thank you Neely! I had completely forgotten about Shutter Island, I was interrupted the first time I watched it and never went back and finished it.

By the way, if you're going to see Antichrist make sure that it's the full length original version. I don't even know if they released a toned-down Blockbuster version but if they did, avoid it.

Hey i watched the Serbian film a while ago!
There are a couple of scenes i am sure i will never forget.
I can take shock value but i like it when it is accompanied with a message (which imo this film lacks) and given the background of the film, the director could say a lot.
I watched this one lately

It's slightly older (2007) but it was fun (and a good response to the twillight fans :D). The comic book i hear is very good as well.

Have you seen The Walking Dead? It's a TV serial, rather than a film, but it was very good.

the images are just a way to place the idea, you know?

Yep. I just wanted the film to be more political. I have no problem with the images.

oh its not political at all. i see it as a non-hypocritical portrait of social raport. no glitter.

Yep. You could say that. I thought it was going to include some of the recent events in that country and somehow combine what was portrayed in the film with the political, financial situation...and i was wrong. It is a very bad thing to have preconceived notions about a film (about anything for that matter). It lets you down (regardless of the actual worth of the film).

Horror films have gone down the toilet in the last decade. Occasionally, a good one pops up, but most of them are just crap. If you drop the 2009-present limitation, I could recommend some good movies.
