What is this place?
For friends
For heavyweights
for the inbetweens?
For critique
or a slap on the back?
For stanzas for structure
for pretensions, for the elite
for the serious
the great unpublished
the troubled souls
the not appreciated
in their own lifetimes?
The amazing
esoterics
or the hysterically
religious souls?
For me
its embodied by zoo
who missed out on school
yet floods this place
with
worthy
personal
poetry.
I seem to remember that being
the sign above the door
When I came in.

Oh my dear sir, did you beat me to it... Those were my words... What is is with this ESP thing. Do my friends on this forum know me so well, that we can almost produce such similar work. I am completely impressed, sir.

First thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread is what Lucifer says in Milton's "Paradise Lost" (as best I recall):


"Why, this is hell, nor are we out of it"

but in fact, if it is, it's been a very companionable Hell to me! And your latest poem is an example of what makes this such a good place to be.
