Whence Spirits Rise
In ages hence shall spirits rise,
as rose the Holy One
through shattered ties to flesh and bone,
the Righteous Rising Son.
Who offers men the gift He knew
beyond the realm we plod
of life beyond the ways of flesh
the hallowed ways of God.
Magnify our spirit Lord
beyond what we can see.
Past things we hear
with human ear
that spirits may be free.
Give death to carnal senses Lord,
that sense of spirit thrive,
attuned beyond
the fleshy bond,
that men may come alive.
As came alive the Rising Son
to step beyond his grave.
To show for all the spirits might
whence flesh be made the slave.
That men may come to follow Him,
to share His grace within,
to make themselves the Sons of God
whence spirits rise again
