The many moves I have made since college find me now without this great, cornerstone of my mathematics education. "It's around here somewhere," I can be heard saying in a rant, stumping around our new home here, "I'm sure I saw it in one of those boxes."
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
This is the tenet I refute today. I am only doing average work in my self-styled, program of reeducation. I am studying this area of mathematics along with a review of contemporary literature. That's it -- only two, "classes". I really wonder, "could I go back to school?" I am using a PDF version of this old math book to review my studies of this very interesting field of mathematics. Still available from Amazon.com, for almost $200! You can buy this, time honored text. I suppose that is completely in line for a second year, math book these days.
So I don't really even want buy this book off someone. I want to find my own copy here, maybe with a love note or a theater ticket stub from the 80s, tucked in some where to mark a place in the past.
