As directed, I'm introducing myself. My name is Susan and obviously I love to read. (I hope that would be obvious, as I can't think of another good reason to be on this site.)
I would go into a long monologue on my favorite authors, but there are too many. I love the classics. I'm currently reading Vanity Fair and Great Expectations for the second time.
I follow several current authors but have been disappointed at times by the effect that success seems to have on writing. I'm mostly attached to writers who take their time and put out a novel every three or four years. I find the people who publish yearly seem to sacrifice quality to meet those deadlines, and have stopped reading several over the years when I see a pattern of cookie cutter story telling.
I'm a mom, a counselor, and a writer in my spare time. (Whenever that is - I try to do at least an hour a day.)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to interacting on this site.
Thanks,
Susan
