I'm a huge fan of the "road trip" genre. You know, a couple of buddies hopping in a car and driving across the country, getting into crazy adventures, etc.

These are the ones that I can think of:

1. On the Road - Jack Kerouac

2. Dharma Bums - Jack Kerouac

3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S. Thompson

4. Rum Diaries - Hunter S. Thompson

5. Motorcycle Diaries - ? (can't remember the author)

6. The Beach - ?

Can anybody think of any other books that I may enjoy based on the ones that I've listed? If so thanks for the suggestions.

Che Guevara wrote the motorcycle diaries...

Great book IMO...It's really an account of his coming-of-age...I was surprised by his writing, deft writer

The Road. Now there's a trip you don't want to go on.

The best road trip novel I've read is Edward Abbey's A Fool's Progress. Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon is pretty good too.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.

OK, there technically isn't the car, but they used what they had.
