My dear,
People say equinox is a date
when the sun's starting to travel southward,
but I think
it's more like a path with two different ends.
If you insist on staying in the northern hemisphere
to watch the falling maple leaves now,
then I have no choice but to migrate with the fervent day star
toward the other end in the south
to visit spring budding.

When you put on the most beautiful clothes in autumn colors,
it's about the time
I'll be humming a melody of April Showers Bring May Flowers.
If you really want to know why I must leave you,
and why I can't spend the white Christmas with you,
you'll know that I'm ...
I'm a cicada.
I'd love to sing love songs in the summer rain,
but I'm afraid I can't survive the freezing cold in the north
in this flimsy clothing of mine!
