That half eaten jar of chutney
you bought last year
at the Chilli Festival
wasn't as spicy as you would like
Giving me something that has passed
its use by date
won't renew our relationship
handling a glass jar that has been
thrust back to the furry parts of your fridge
won't thaw my heart
Even if I have discovered
your feelings for me rate higher
than your maggot infested bin
What is between us cannot be cleansed

Wow! What a savage kiss-off! Very vividly expressed.

What a mean so-and-so! Whoever he is, manage without him - unless he buys you a fresh jar of Vegemite! Seriously, the undertones of anger show through, and I really liked the poem. Just feel sorry for the narrator, thats all!

did it sound angry? guess I'm not as good a liar to myself as I thought I was!

You made telling someone off an art that has no expiration date.

Take Dafy's advice, booze is not only cheaper, it has no expiration date, and some are even better with time.
