Well its getting late in this bit of the globe,
and im heading upstairs soon
and bequilted and fighting the night
I will lay in the light of the moon.
I will think of the poem of poems
and sit quite upright in bed.
I will think of arising to write it,
but will leave it 'til morning instead.
This mammoth of insight and verse
will invade my troubled dreams,
it will receive a thousand comments
and nothing will be as it seems.
But at daylight, abruptly arisen,
by the worries of day,
another bloody masterpeice,
has simply melted away.

haha, yes, know the feeling. I had one that slipped away the other day. I'd gotten up to write it and couldn't get it all out so I let it go.

As for this poem.. parts are pretty good, a couple of the rhymes are weak,

but, that's okay - goodnight in Aussie-ville. It's got to be late there...

I can't imagine that the poem you let slip away could possibly have been better than the one you just posted!

I'm sure most of us can identify with this poem - you must get yourself a bedside notebook and pen; just imagine what you are depriving us of until you do!
