When traveling from the green grassland of my boyhood
to the Sahara Desert,
I was almost done with the song of a traveler~
no more dreams left in my backpack,
no more water in my waterbag,
only a cactus to lean against to relieve my tired feet!
The vultures, hovering over my head,
were chanting a drowsy spell
as I felt my candle flickering in the wind.
There, like a winding river from a green oasis,
you ran through my withering heart!
I readily plunged into your refreshing water,
and blissfully emerged with a rejuvenating soul!
You're such a beautiful windfall
that I can't help but ponder
whether it's God, the wind, or my good Karma
in the myriad previous lives
that brings your smile into my fantansy paradise!

Another beautiful poem, especially the last two verses. The title confused me to begin with because I was focusing on one interpretation of the word 'windfall'
- 'fruit blown down off a tree and normally left on the ground to decay'
- but the term can also refer to an unexpected treasure appearing as if by magic from the sky, so all is well.

More superb imagery - you can almost picture the scene, the arid landscape, the heat, but the refreshment as well. Thanks, Ang - another gem.

Told from the perspective of a wise person happening to chance on love again. From such an interesting narrative perspective, how can the reader not enjoy this?

Thanks, Hillwalker, for the beautiful comment as usual!
It's a shame that most of your poems are too good and complicated for me to give you as many comments!

Thanks, Daffy, my kind pal, for your superb feedback again!
