I'm writing an essay on Milton's Paradise Lost and exploring Satan's use of rhetoric in his temptation of Eve. Often he uses flattery as a way of winning her heart.
My question is this:
Is flattery an example of pathos?
Or another of the three types of rhetoric? Or a category of it's own?
