"In the beginning" was the start
everything by it is referred
the basic fabric would come apart
so it is really much preferred
our years are numbered so they say
just like the length of thread
we count the measures day by day
like the hairs upon our head
God made the first one on day four
we have used it e'er since then
days, months, years, and even more
and now we even use Big Ben
I have a watch upon my wrist
grandfather in the house
a cell app on the menus list
and one shaped like a little mouse
we worry so much about the ticks
but we never stop to think
if we'd just enjoy its little nicks
and be sure not to blink
since I have not much to spare
before I reach the hearse
I may not be inclined to care
if I even finish this......
