Saturday is alright
if you want to shop
clean the house
stop and smell a rose
but school books
just sit on the shelf
beckoning from afar
who wants to test
their mind
on the weekend?
only someone
who wants to test
their mind on a weekend

Me, I write nonsensical poetry
to distract from my responsibilities
I am getting a degree
by degrees
isn't that enough?
I am working to pay for
the tuition
isn't that enough?
can't I just lose myself
in poetry land
and babble like
a brook full of rocks
till I spit crap
across the face
of the worldwide web?

I think I'd better study
after a Catherine Tate comedy
