Ma Petite.

You are my little darling one,
ma belle, whom je t'adore
Ma petite chere, et ma bonbon
I love you to mon core.

The words of love, c'est la francaise!
A man in love will try
To use it several times a day,
But no-one can say why.

Ma belle poupee, ma petite chatte,
Je t'aime, my beauteous wench.
I had to use some English there,
'Cos we don't know any French.

Is this international poetry or sumfink?
Very Good Duck. Reminded me of your German odyssey, which was hilarious. I notice the French one is shorter. Presumably threw up the white flag early ;)

Oh Dave, this is sweet... France is my all time destination and I know a couple of words, but it doesn't compare to a profession of love in French... Mon amor

Oh, er, let me think. La plume de ma tante? No, that's not it....

Ma Cherry, something like that.

D'you know, it's odd you should say that. I was thinking exactly the same thing only this morning.

Angli, you're going to have to translate that, because if I know you, it will be genuine. Please.

A sweet poem that I'm tempted to emend but won't.:smilewinkgrin:

I suspect, Bar, tht your French is a million times better than mine. I learned it at school up till 1973 (!), and I've used it exactly once since. That was to direct a truck driver who is probably, 18 years later, still wandering around unable to find the place he was looking for. Ah well, stick to German!

No, twice at least. The second time when you met the "petite" of your poem!

Were it German, I wouldn't have been so sure of myself. But you can try my Portuguese.

Ah, the petite of the poem knows about much French as I do - which considering on particular mistake is just as well!!!!! Portuguese I can't help with, though I have quite a few friends who are native Portuguese speakers,
