the cat curls up
in my flower box
as if it could incubate flora
which struggles to survive
under feline weight
there is something
caught between me
and the way forward
it suffocates me
yet I'm willing to say
anything
as long as it isn't
about what presses down
upon me
and of course we
don't want to go there
so I squirm and fail
I stay put for a while
and take in the view
of blossoms to be
rather than focus
on you, the force
and how I am like
a pea under your bulk
you see, no matter
how you lie
where a thorn lies
the truth must leak out
I wriggle but one day
you will hear me utter
that which can't be said
we both know that
and silently, over tea
we consider the cat
snoozing in the flower box

Unsettling..... so are you that flower crushed under the weight of the cat perhaps?

could be. I watched my cat Hung Phat Chow nestle in the box while it rained and it got me thinking...

Oh, what an ominous note in

but one day
you will hear me utter
that which can't be said
we both know that
and silently, over teawe consider the cat
snoozing in the flower box

Interesting point of view from the other half!
I guess you'd better let the words uttered so that the bulk will know you're under his force!

Funny how we can all look at the same situation in different ways, and express it so differently too. Great piece of work, that. Thanks

More to it than there appears I would say Delta. I think I understand.

As John Lennon once said to an astounded fan: 'they're just words man'
