words roll off the screen
like some warm fuzzy blanket
as sleepy eyes
are moistened by
steamy tea
your poems are splashed
across the web
like puddles of milk
for me to lap up
I spill my own heart
through globs of raspberry jam
and toast crusts

You mix the daily and the mundane into meaning and poetry. Poems dripping in puddles of milk and globs of raspberry jam. Its pure Delta infact Deltaesque :)
goodnight Vegimite.

Very imaginative and excellent analogy!
I love it!
Thanks, Delta!

Breakfast with your Litnet friends - nice idea! Lovely little poem, Delta.

Clever idea, delta. I think the time difference makes it even more evocative - when we are tucked in bed weaving z's into new ideas you are starting a new day with tea and toast, mulling over our efforts - and of course vice versa.....

It's true. I wonder where you all go to by the time I am ready for work!

sorry mate but I'm a day ahead of you - I am speaking from the future....

Now I'm completely confused. You speak to me on Monday, yet I'm still on Sunday?
I'm in yesterday? Does this make me dated? Or are you futuristic?

I loved this poem, though mostly it was the middle of it that got my juices flowing...
as sleepy eyes

like puddles of milk
maybe I felt you ended it too quickly, or maybe that's just me.

lol a little of both I think but only until we find ourselves on the same calendar page then the milk stops turning and we can all enjoy a nice cup of tea

you could be right neilgee. I am not a wordy poet and each time I write, I can feel my life experiences drying like quick cement as if I only have a limited timeframe to get it down otherwise, its gone forever.
I like this very much Delta.
It IS very cool to be able to
talk to each other, halfway
across the world. I am something
of a Luddite when it comes to new
technology, I have only just
mastered fire...peace...

So I just add my approbative voice to it, a bit late (but better late than never) - best - Bar

I love the immediacy of this, and the sense that you looked up from your table and could see the rest of us peering at you, waiting for a word...

I still can't get over the fact that it is possible to feel so much warmth, just through a keyboard and screen, as we all share little snippets of our lives.
