Song of Mercy

I知 alone and I am lost,
Purchased, this loneliness cost
Day by day the light,
Leaving me in misted night.

Eviscerating mist, so eerie,
Cold, it leaves me weary,
Whispering a futile moan
I知 afraid and I am alone.

I was blind now Im lost,
Purchased, this blindness cost
Friends and family and warmth,
Leaving only bitter remorse.

Eviscerating bitterness, so cruel,
Laughing, it calls me fool,
Selfish memories I find,
I知 alone for I was blind.

Oh, it's such a heart-rending poem. and your repeated use of "Purchased" has the feeling of a jury's harsh sentence echoing through the courtroom. You are so hard on yourself!

Well, as we learn, we take responsibility and can leave behind blame and bitterness, while loneliness, hmm, is assured to all... Thanks Mercy. Bar

Yes, Mercy, you make it sound as though you payed a high price, but then sometimes, one has to. Magnificent. Quite magnificent.

Its not about me...I am in a good place and have love in my life. Though, I have known others who bully there way through life and always have to push and twist until one way or another they get their way. Then, when they have their stuff and their glory, they find themselves bereft of warmth and love. I hate that for people. I hate it the most because often people truly think their way is the best way...so they are blind to the truth. The truth that sometimes things dont have to turn out for the best...sometimes going through stuff and letting others make a wrong turn is what gives them strength.

Anyways...thanks for the kind words.

Thank you. This poem seems a bit more substantial than some of the others I have written.
