DOUBLE ACT

Laurel and Hardy, Pete and Dud,
Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd,
French and Saunders, Little and Large,
Morecambe and Wise, or Homer and Marge
Sherlock and Watson, Flanders and Swan,
Pinky and Perky, the list just goes on
Blackadder and Baldrick, Cannon and Ball,
or Daffy and Jerry, the best one of all.

To be compared to Eric and Ernie..... *Walks tall, but bumps in to furniture*

that's one neat little beastie, Hill. Bendigedig, bach!

And of course there were also Morphy and Anderssen, but this perhaps is a slightly different double act...

Of course you gave Laurel & Hardy pride of place. How about George Burns & Gracie? Or, though we're venturing into trios, Lock, Stock & Barrel?

Prince - I did think of George and Gracie but couldn't quite get them to fit the scansion..... in passing, Daf, if you could change your name to Tom.....

.... and thanks also Bar for your response on this little bit of frivolous Friday frippery

I'll nip down the Post Office for the Deed Poll forms right away. Hey, that means I get top billing!! Tom and Jerry, NOT Jerry and Tom. Haha!

Sounds like a cunning plan to me.

Am honoured at the mention Hill...

Dear Hill, thank you for that list of greats
held up by two old reprobates.
Daf has fell to madness
and its with a fleeting sadness
that my solo career awaits.

Sorry Daf. It was cold there in your shadow. I was the wind beneath your wings. Your wind stank the dressing rooms out. etc.

Cheers Hill
put a smile on my face.

Damn. Just as we got double bookings, your own blanket and sprouts three times a week. Come back, Jerry, all is forgiven (except that little affair with the banana.)

Hey, Very Nice Poem. A small quibble,if you used sherlock, you could have used john or you could have out it down as holmes and watson! Anyway, what you wrote, sounds good!

Regards!

Thanks all - and adity, I had that very thought myself, but to maintain the metre I had to pair Sherlock with Watson, just call it 'poetic licence'!!

I like your works, Hill, even the thought-provoking ones. Always fun and playful.
