Oh yes. As an Old Norse scholar, it's invaluable; I don't have the money to by a complete set of the Izlensk fornrit, and nor do I fancy carrying half-a-dozen heavy tomes up the hill from the library to my college. So, I get the quotations I need off the internet, then when I've decided which ones I am going to use I simply go to the library and make sure the editions agree, and get the page references.

The Icelandic Saga Database (http://www.sagadb.org/) is reasonable, if a bit hit-and-miss, but Heimskringla (http://www.heimskringla.no/wiki/Hovedside) is rapidly growing into an excellent resource, even if it is missing some absolutely pivotal texts at the moment.

Oh, and the Beygingarlýsing íslensks nútímamáls (http://bin.arnastofnun.is/) is utterly invaluable for anyone trying to negotiate the Icelandic language (and thus it largely works for Old Norse as well); simply stick in a word, check the box, and it'll tell you all the possible root-words for the inflected form.
