View Full Version : Diminishing Light

The sky may fall in
or the floor could rise up
whichever way
the end arrives
death tips the balance
of life
A draping black robe
blocks out knowledge of light
It envelops all conscious emotion
every trace of care
Death need not prepare me
when my flagging soul becomes
tangled in its fishing line
Let it!
I cannot feel the sensation
as Death reels me in
where I am netted at his bank
I will never know the pain
of my soul's thrashing aura
as it is spiked like an eel

I love your marine references Delta. Living by the sea, its the first in your mind when poetic thought sweeps over you and as a sea lover (never trust people who dislike the sea, is my new mantra) I love your references. I suspect death maybe painless its the waiting that stings. I intend on returning to my catholic birth 5 minutes previous, just, just incase :)
Ok Im a fan of yours. where do I sign ?

I was just in the middle of writing one, dear Delta, when I got to thinking about how poverty oils the poetic mind and so for the sake of all on here who love your work I ripped it .

I trust this excellent if somewhat morbid poem is not caused by your reaction to the election results?

Shh! don't say the E word or my virtual penis will be chopped off!
to be honest, I'm watching Taxie the pigeon die. He nearly went yesterday and then he came good but this morning, he is once again on the brink.

Must be fascinating picturing pigeon heaven. They are most likely given an eternal line of people to crap upon in their heavenly loft :)

yeah but it is still sad. I think he has fought the good fight and now he needs to rest in peace. I am done crying.
