Happy Birthday!
http://media.cakecentral.com/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/178703/normal_19th_Birthday_Cake.jpg
An interview with AdoreroDio:
*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
Because it's interesting to get to know people. I personally am participating because it's been a very, very long time since I've been on so I'm pretty sure people have forgotten me :]
*Are you sure you want to do this?*
I'm answering the questions, aren't I?
*Who killed Roger Rabbit?*
Chuck Norris.
*Whose footprints would you find in the fridge?*
An elephant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ4kL4pI-rY&feature=related (start at 1:45)
*So, how old are you?*
When this is posted I will be 19.
*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
Hm.... even though the actual song slighlty gets on my nerves the lyrics to Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield would make a great theme song.
*Are you male or female? *
I am of the female variety.
*What makes you keep coming back?*
Here? Poetry. :P
*Are you happy with the way things are here?*
Where is here? That is a very vague question? Do you mean on the forums? Or where I am right now? Or my country?
Here on the forums, I'm not sure. I haven't been on in a very long time. I'm sure it's as fabulous as when I left. Where I am right now...not really. I'm only happy with the people not the place. :] But that's okay I'm leaving in a few weeks. My country? Definitely not. But life goes on. I hope I answered whatever question was meant to be asked...
*Which countries have you visited?*
El Salvador, Canada, and Mexico
*Which languages do you speak?*
I dabble in Spanish and ASL and my native language is American :patriot: , I also pretend to speak real English but my vocabulary needs some improvement. :]
*How do you like your home town?*
I love the people. Hate everything else. But like I said I'm leaving in a few weeks so all is good. The beach is dirty, the politics is horrible, education is pretty shoddy (unless you went to the high school I did...) the weather NEVER changes (not in any good direction anyways, we'll get fire season every once in a while)... nope pretty much not a great town.
*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
I'd love to live in a European country for a while. Maybe Italy? Because I am fascinated by the culture and the languages and the grass is always greener on the other side of the ocean. I've always wanted to learn Italian. But really I think if it was where I'd like to live permanently, it may seem weird, but I'd love to go back to El Salvador. I was only there for 11 days but it felt like home. I'd like to go teach english there...
*Do you have any pets?*
Two wonderful dogs. Jake is the most beautiful and well-tempered (lazy) dog ever. He's a mutt, about the size of a Labrador and I love him. I've had him for 7 years (on the day after my birthday) and wouldn't trade him for the world. I mean, he was potty trained in 3 days! Scooby on the other hand...he's a psycho dog. He's a rescue, rescue, rescue dog. Has been in the pound three times with abusive owners so when we got him he was a mess. He's doing a ton better. He'll even jump on our laps and let us pet him, which is fantastic.
*What makes you happy?*
True friendship and letters that arrive in the mail.
*What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?*
Achievement: the internet
Downfall: the internet
*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
I want it to be stronger. I don't read my Bible as often as I'd like too...but I'm comfortable with my faith in God an in answering questions about it.
*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
I don't know the names of actresses very well but the one that plays Rory in Gilmore Girls.
*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
A horse.
*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
Two things I guess, after a long hard day working with kids when I know I did a good job in a tough situation and when I write poetry.
*How did you meet your significant other?*
In the future. Hasn't happened yet :]
*Who inspires you most?*
Truthfully? God.
*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
Not to be prideful but I think I'm naturally good at writing poetry (I started in 3rd grade and never stopped...), working with kids, and math (even though I hate it I've never had trouble understanding it...).
*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
Become a teacher.
*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
It would never be a "had to teach"- I love to teach and will teach. What will I teach? I want to be an elementary school teacher- so everything! I want to teach a love of learning.
*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
I regret not continuing to play piano after 3rd grade- I'm still only mediocre and I wish I had kept at it.
*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
Reading. Specifically the Bible.
*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
My kindle with an infinite battery life.
*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
A queen is little more than a figure head, with little actual power. At least nowadays. So I guess I would pawn my crown jewels and donate half the money to a well deserving charity and the other half I'd spit amongst a few of my family and myself (which I would put in a savings account) so living like a queen wouldn't have to end at a day.
*What song is in your head at the moment?*
Nothing actually...which is odd for me.
*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
Lord of the Rings and Crazy Love
*What is your favourite quote?*
I'm not sure... I really like-
"Men will not recieve truth from their enemies and it is very seldom offered to them by their friends."- Tocqueville and "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right."-Ford or maybe "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."- Winston Churchill
*Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
I don't know...I haven't been around it a while. One second while I browse...
...
Ah, I still like Pensive's :]
*Favorite threads?*
Picture Poetry Contest (...continued...) is definitely my favorite And Subject Poetry Contest.
*Favorite food?/ Comfort food?*
garlic/garlic cheesy bread. mhmmmmm
*What time of day do you most often find yourself on the LitNet*?
:] it used to be night but now it seems like mornings...
*What are you wearing at the moment?*
my orientation 2010 shirt from my college orientation and pajama pants (every dog has its day)
*Favorite poem?*
Octavio Paz: translated
FLAME, SPEECH
I read in a poem:
to talk is divine.
But the gods don't speak:
they make and unmake worlds
while men do the talking.
They play frightening games
without words.
The spirit descends,
loosening tongues,
but doesn't speak words:
¡t speaks fire.
Lit by a god,
language becomes
a prophecy
of flames and a tower
of smoke and collapse
of syllables burned:
ash without meaning.
The word of man
is the daughter of death.
We talk because we are mortal:
words are not signs, they are years.
Saying what they say,
the words we are saying
say time: they name us.
We are time's names.
The dead are mute
but they also say
what we are saying.
Language is the house
of all, hanging over the abyss.
To talk is human.
*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
The Boxcar Children...I don't know what number.
*What era do you find most of the books you read are from?*
I don't have one. I read everything I can.
*Favorite TV shows?*
Gilmore Girls (seasons 1-4, the rest are garbage for the most part) and House and Invader Zim
but I don't watch TV- Netflix and DVD only.
*Which Forum members would you like to meet in person if you could*?
I wouldn't. It ruins things, meeting internet friends in person.
*Last words you said out loud?*
"I'm going to finish up and go to bed soon"- said last night a few hours before I went to bed. :]
*Last person you hugged/kissed?*
I hugged my best friend Julia last night...
*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
My high school job was (well still is for another week...) as a Sunday School teacher. I technically don't have a profession yet but it will be as a teacher in the far off distant future.
*What question would you like to ask yourself?*
What is the best thing that has happened to you in the last year?
(I'm assuming I should now answer it too, hm?)
I think it would probably be that I got a full ride scholarship to college, it's nice not to have to really worry about finances. I mean I have to pay for books...and the school I am going to wasn't my top choice but it's nice that it's free.
*What would you like to be if you could change your profession?*
I don't have a profession yet. :]
*Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?*
What a fabulous question! But I don't have a fabulous answer.I think I may be Doc. Sometimes my thoughts are too fast for my mouth :} and Doc always seems to give sound advice which is something I hope I do.
*What is your most outstanding feature?*
Outstanding as in fabulous or outstanding as in you notice it first? I think it may be my smile either way- fabulous is the smile as a whole (the essence not the actual physical smile) but noticed first is my teeth (my front teeth are kind of big and a few of my teeth are a little crooked).
*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
I'd have straight teeth.
*Which book do you wish you had written?*
Lord of the Rings :] but I guess that is books, plural. So maybe Pride and Prejudice.
*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
Getting my room cleaned up and packed.
*Describe your ideal day, please.*
Well, since you said please. I'd wake up at 5 and not feel tired. Go for a nice walk in crisp autumn air and come home, take a warm shower. Eat a nice breakfast of bacon and crepes (that I made myself with a delicious blackberry sauce)- all before 7 in the morning. And then I would go do something strenuous, hard work for a few exhausting hours. Something that I could see the difference I made when I was done- habitat for humanity maybe? I'd then go babysit some kids and play with them. It would now be about 3 in the afternoon. Exhausted I would call some of my best friends over and we would hang out, watching The Princess Bride and quoting all the words. Play Apples to Apples and Fax Machine and then all go down to the Marina and eat ice cream while watching the sun set over the water. I would go home, write some poetry next to a warm fire while drinking hot chocolate and eating smores. Then have my dog sleep on my bed as I fell asleep reading a good book.
*Favorite movie?*
The Princess Bride
*Last movie you watched?
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
*Favorite painting?*
I don't have one. Anything Renaissance time period.
*Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?*
When you ask it like that... :] I still say Batman.
*Something you want to forget but you never can?*
The Game. ;] I lose and so do you. hehe
*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?*
Send one thing? You mean to room 101 as in 1984 your greatest fear? I don't get what you mean by send? I can tell you what would be in my room 101- it would be nothingness. Unknown. A chair sitting in the middle of a void, with random noises that you can't see the sources of.
*Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?*
I am in pursuit but am happy with the pursuit.
*What type of Faerie would you like to be and why?*
Fire. Because I am a pyro. :]
*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
Life is what you make of it, smile even when it is impossible to and you'll find that happiness isn't as far as it seemed.
*What question would you like to ask to the person to be interview after you?
If you could relive one moment in your life whenever you wanted to, what would it be?
