Approaching this auspicious milestone, we should do two things:
Guess when it will happen.
Organise a party!
(I will take care of the latter, with help from parker of The Blokes' Club!)

You need to understand that when you are over 40, 6 months feel like couple of weeks... And when you are over 50, it feels like couple of days!
Which is why we can get so excited over things like this (it might have something to do with the fact that there isn't much else exciting going on in our lives either).
:p
PS: How are you doing, by the way? Healing well?

Scher, can you explain why, when you gt over 50, 6 months feels like a couple of days, yet sometimes an hour in the doctor's waiting room feels like a whole month - especially when you know he's going to tell you "You can expect this at your age".

I'm not looking forward to those days. I've been aging much too quickly as it is.

Not bad, the wire is being cut Wednesday morning, then I have physiotherapy and a final x-ray to do, all in all I should be free to binge on fast food by noon.

Yes, I can. Despite time passing faster, one's patience becomes less tolerant.
What time is left is too precious to waste waiting for someone! Especially doctors.
I'm sure there's a worldwide medical conspiracy to raise blood pressures by making people wait for appointments! Big pharma for sure.

Leave big pharma alone, I get all sorts of perks from them at work. Pfizer provides me 6 months supply of flea medication every year for free, that saves me like 300 dollars a year. Also, for a little while Novartis used to send us jelly beans. Although, it may not be sensible to eat something sent to you by a drug company just because it's labeled as candy.

Yes, that's another joy of doctors' waiting rooms. If you haven't got it, you damned well will do by the time you leave!

Don't you jut love drug reps? When I was working in a small animal clinic we used to love when the reps would come because they would give us free stuff. The doc didn't like it so much- he was the one who had to listen to their sales pitches haha. Never got my flea/heartworm meds free though...that would have been awesome!

If a bit of free flea powder and a few sweets constitutes your minimum bribe level, you probably shouldn't be working for a major drugs corporation... :P
Anyway, party sounds good! But where would we hold it? US UK? Somewhere in between (that could be rather damp)? I'll bring a bottle...

Place?
What flaming century are you living in??
The internet is a time, not a place.
We need to pick an hour or two in time.
Actually, having a few months to plan is ideal, because then we can be assured that everyone will be here!
As I see it, time zones are irrelevant, because we all live in different ones.
You're either up for a party or you're not.
It can be breakfast in the office with you desktop, airborne on cellphone or on a boat and laptop - all you need to be is awake, and since the invention of alarm clocks, that is simple to arrange.
What do you reckon?
Here's a suggestion:
There are any number of media we can use here, but for simplicity, I'd say we stick to a couple: get a chatroom and use a specific thread, along with the live chat.
Start the party.
Chat.
Post pics!
The trouble with bottle parties is that the bottles are usually already empty on arrival.
Ah, well since you'll be responsible for the supply, empty is how they should be!
I think we should go for UK - purely and simply because then I can stagger home, without being ill all over an air hostess.
Now, you can!

I've sent Scher a PM to find out just how many posts a day there are on average so we can get an approximate idea of when to do it.
It might be a good idea to set a day several days in advance of the expected date, then if we need a burst of posts to get the 1,000,000 post screenshot, we can set up and spam a thread somewhere.
Advertise it well, there must be a couple of hundred people will partake in it?
And we'll try to keep the drinking references to places like The Blokes' Club as I am aware some people are offended by boozy ex-rugger louts and their mascot!
