Leaves of banyan trees push against each other
to crowd onto the green roof of a theater,
blocking off peeping sunlight,
creating a pleasant shade for all the dancers underneath.
The arial prop roots swinging idly play the long gray beards of the sleepy senior audience.
Some peach actresses nearby are swaying gently
in the summer breeze beside a brook.
When a gust of wind blows, sending their skirts all flying up,

the brook is snickering,
and the frolicking clouds are all grinning.

Hi angliholic, I think you could use a few more commas in that first sentance and the shape is more remaniscent of Bikini Atol than a banyan tree to me, but the words - the words are great. Nice poem!

Very good poem. The 5th and 6th lines were my favourite ones. (Sorry I could't quote it, as I am typing from a mobile.) Great work.
