I know there are tons out there but can anyone recommend a book that provides a good analysis of the man and his major works ?? Preferably a large one, I want it to be pretty in depth.

Some of the most comprehensively detailed work on Dostoevsky can be found in Joseph Frank's many volumes, broken up by period:

I would also recommend Mikhail Bakhtin's The Problems of Dostoyevsky's Poetics. Especially captivating is the chaper that traces the influence of the Carnival tradition in literature on his work. That was one of the most insightful analyses of Dostoeyevsky I've ever read.
