The lilacs, the lilies
do not bloom today.
Blame not the spring,
the breeze or the wind.
The sun comes out
a ray of shapeless black.

Bees kill themselves
with poisoned honey.
Birds fly somewhere
to bury their wings.
Butterflies go back
to their old cocoons.
Even beetles disappear
like smoky indigo air.

Listen to the waves
kissing the open shore.
Look at the horizon
dividing earth and hell.
Waiting like hoping
is now a distant dream.

Very imaginative and lively images!

Rather bleak but very well written. After the weekend I've just had I could do without the liberal helping of dispair though :D

Good poem H

Wonderfully vivid and graceful as always, but I'd rather the inverted syntax of:

Blame not the spring,

were "Don't blame the spring" to be consistent with the stanard English syntax you've used elsewhere throughout the poem, and

Waiting like hoping

could use commas after "waiting" and "hoping"

Thank you for this.

This poem is sparser and less engaging perhaps than your usual pieces, but there are one or two wonderful phrases, particularly

beetles disappear
like smoky indigo air

which is an impossible image yet so thought-provoking.

I wonder why you chose to call it 'Untitled'

Untiled because i didn't know what I was writing about. The images just popped up while I was smoking-- a marlboro white, of course.
