The moon is leaning downward;

a crow is cawing in a sky of frost.

A maple tree by the river is sleeping alone

against the light from a fishing boat.

Outside the town Gusu, a bell from Cold Mountain Temple

rings across the midnight and reaches a guest boat.

The mystery of that "guest boat"! How intriguing and your characteristic spareness serves this poem well.

A vision of tranquility in six sparse lines. I love it, particularly the couplet

which encapsulates the serenity of the piece. Nature and man's endeavours entwined as one peaceful entity. One of your better ones.

Serenity and calmness summed up in just six lines. Reminds me of one of my favorite poems in my mother tongue. I like these lines very much

It conveys the sense of silence of night when nature itself seems asleep. Keep on the good work!

Regards.

Thanks for your interest. I would certainly like to share the poem but as it is not in English I'd have to translate it. I'll try to do so when I'll be free.
