Howling through the fields
pack-less, tired and scared
the wolf of golden fur
arose and leaped in cheer.
Falling to her prey
(the blue-gray cotton hare),
She licked her grinning lips
and snarled out her fear.
Her need was finally met
and with it so her prey's,
the two of them just danced
in love, in laugh and play.

I think I am missing something here. I don't know what snarling out her fear implies so I am not sure how they come to be enjoying life together.

A truly provocative thought, that prey and predator have a shared destiny, and handled here with great delicacy.

It's tempting to read some autobiography into this, as you call yourself 'Wolf'... I wonder who the lucky 'hare' is?? :wink5:

well just when dogs snarl and stuff, my goal here was to make it seem like she was about to hunt and he fear was of dying from starvation, but her real hunger was for company.
