Neither a bird can be seen
flying above those thousand hills,
nor a footprint
found on those ten thousand trails.
There is only a boat
with an old man in straw quilts,
fishing alone in a snow-covered river.

Oh god, I love such loneliness. Beautiful description of the scene. May I ask How the old man is fishing in a snow-covered river? Has he become mad due to loneliness for such a long time. Anyway good translation (I assume).

Thanks, Adit, for the nice feedback.

I'd think people from different cultures couldn't perceive this lonely and beautiful scene, but apparently I was wrong. And thank you for proving me wrong.

The old man can be you and I, or anyone on this lonely planet! So you have to find your own answer!
Life is hard and lonely when we are experiencing it like the old man in the poem. But at a distance, it's extremely beautiful!

Hello Angli! Just saw this poem of yours. It evokes the sense of loneliness beautifully. May I know is it your original composition or another lovely translation?

I felt the same as a boy as you felt after reading it!
That's why I wanted to share it with you! The following is a link of its related images:

Thanks, Prince, for the nice feedback.

But the honor is certainly not mine!
I am just a translator!

I'd like to hear from what is so delicate and what are the masterful brush-strokes!
