A man came to my door
Some unused light clicked on
Finally, he left
Darkness fell

That is brilliant. Not because you supported me. Just because it is brilliant.

thanks jerry.
from the misty past
an old friend emerged
I gushed garbage
and he lapped it up

Thanks, Delta, for sharing this short but thought-provoking piece.
I like it very much.
Here is my two cents--A friend may brighten our gloomy life by turning on the light within us.
When he leaves, our world is alone again. Each one of us is nothing but a lonely traveller on this lonely planet.

Wow! Very sad thought!!I think the first line of the poem should have started with...
In Pitch Darkness
came a man to my door
Some unused light clicked on
and left
Darkness fell!

Perhaps. I think the lines stir our own hearts meaning.
