Not from personal experience, but this case is applicable in India at least.

A student went and saw
His college and was caught in awe.
He shot a gaze at the plaque
Which read 'MDS Medical College'

Still gazing at it, he dreamt
How his days would be, that were meant
To be his life's golden days
And he would be in his own ways

The next day he attended the convocation
and was arrested by the dean's elocution
He was very much impressed
And thought he would be 'caressed'

But it all started
When he was stated
That he should wake up before 6 in the morning
And would be back only after 6 in the evening

He was heart-broken
And then left it as a token
Of chance for another
and never did he bother

Oh god, you gave him such an opportunity
But there was something different in his destiny
Sooner rather than later, the fool will realise
That it was the best chance of his life

HE FAILED IN THE TEST CALLED 'THE CHOICE OF LIFE'

- PEACE

you might be right but as he never made that choice how do we know if his life would have been better or not. thought provoking

Does seem a waste of an opportunity on the face of it, but then, many of us have taken a pace back from the mega-pressures of the world, and are a sight happier for it. Saner, too. Neat little poem, though.

@Delta40 - It was he who made the choice, he did not want pressure and suffering for him by waking up so early and coming back so late. It was his choice whether to take the pressure or not. Right?

@Dafydd - Thanks for the comment. I completely agree with what you said! Thanks again.

you're right. what I mean to say is he made the choice not to go down the path of education. once a choice is made we cannot speculate whether he made a right choice or a bad choice as we will never know the outcome of the choice he did not make - only of the one he did make.

Good job, Adi!
The same is true of Formosa!
When there are two roads ahead of us, one and only one we can pick!
That's life!

Good rhymes and flow!

Ah, I got what you intended, throughout the world, or probably in India, getting a free seat into an M.B.B.S is very great and if one doesn't take that, again in India, it is the stupidest choice he could take.

Regards!
