in July. Leading the list is Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers. The first English translation published in 1846 in London fetched a whopping $7,048.

For all you Lolita fans, a copy did not place in the top ten, but Pale Fire did. Nobakov's book commanded $4,000 in an edition published in two volumes by the Arion Press in 1994.

Anna Livia Plurabelle, a name which I am sure everyone is familiar with, sold for $3950. For those not familiar with this title, it is the name of the protagonists wife in Finnegans Wake. Joyce published several fragments of his book on the way to issuing the final work. This is a first edition of this fragment and signed by Joyce on the title page.

The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling was the oldest book. It was published 1749 and is a first edition of Fielding's classic work. It sold for a mere $3,600.

Of the first ten in price, these books were #1, #5, #6, and #7 in the order listed above. I thought a few of you might be interested in what some classic editions are going for these days.
