I bleed from the lash of your tongue
spiked with thorns and rusting pins
pricking my lips, my teeth, my gums.

Your stale whispers choke my breathing
suffused with blood, acid, and phlegm
from the crevices of your false promise.

You are killing me not with blue roses
or the deep wounds red from your bites
but from the sigh, the stare, your smile.

You are killing me with stare and smile.

Here is my consolation to you!

Never let a liar's lips
touch those pink tulips!
