The river won't stop flowing
if you cut it with a knife;
The sorrow will stay bitter
if you drown it in a wine.

Agreed. Good one. There is one thing I would like to suggest, it's not always good to be so short. Try to put in some more lines on the same topic. I can see that these lines come to your brain spontaneously and you instantly log onto LitNet and post it (No offense, that's what I think). If you add some more lines you can become a very good poet. Unless there are some very powerful feelings, being short will not fetch you the intended result. That's what I think, No force.

Thanks, Adit, for your encouraging words as always.

But it takes time and strokes of a genius to write a long and good piece.
This piece is only an English rendition of a most well-known verse from a classic Chinese poem. Most of the Chinese can recite it and love it.
I posted it here to see if people from different cultures could feel the same about it!

Sorry I did not know that you are translating Chinese verses. There is no need for a stroke of a genius, I too wrote a few long ones, am I? Anyway that verse is applicable to anyone in this world. One small suggestion, why don't you translate some nice chinese poems (try long-sized ones) for us.
