Hello all! Just joined LitNet and wanted to say hi! I recently vowed to become a better writer and, as such, seek to procure necessary tools for my writing toolbox. Any suggestions?

I wondered if there was some sort of existing document or tool which lists 'word groups,' in particular orders, relative to their strengths (or other attributes). An example within said document might be;

poor
sub-par
neutral
okay
decent
good
great
super
remarkable
incredible
amazing

A "vocabulary spectrum," for all sorts of different 'word groups' would be a useful tool for me I think. Please advise! My many thanks in advance!!

I don't understand what you're talking about. Can you give an example of how this tool might be used?

Thank you Minstrelbard, for your help on this. What I seek is a tool that will help me find "the perfect word," when constructing sentences. A tool that presents a sorted list of words that have similar meanings yet differ slightly. A tool, like a customized thesaurus, that lists all of the entries in particular order dependent on their various degrees of magnitude. This would allow one to select a more powerful word to describe something.
