Bright green bullets shoot
to the hearts of loved and used
to the minds of free and slaved
for a coin or buck, the graves
are painted in red and blue
and white to praise to you
a land of free and right
so free of greed and blight,
but in this land you'll see
that freedom doesn't breathe
nor did it long ago
despite the wars and woes
in fact, if you're alive
your only freedom died
the moment that you dreamt
in the first sleep you ever slept.

Hi Revolte
As Edwin Starr once sang so well ' War, what is it good for?'
have read your poem several times enjoyed it and think I get it except the last four lines that I dont follow. That could easily be me though.
cheers
Jerry

Thank you :). basically those lines are saying that once you have your first dream you will have all them all stolen from you, basically in opposition to what people like to think.
