Hello - New Member

Greetings everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum and wanted to say hello.

I'm about as green as can be when it comes to writing. I have not formal training, and have not had any education beyond high school.

I am pretty descent at delivering a story verbally, and I've always wanted to write a book of some sort. Last night at work (I work the night shift) I started thinking of a story and today I researched resources online about writing short stories as a start.

I'll probably read a bunch of your guys stuff before I post anything.

Any tips, advice, comments, etc are always welcome.

The only advice I can think of is that when you hit a point of writer's block, step away from the project and do something else--preferably something unrelated to writing. I'm natural writer and don't have writer's block very often. Many people are afraid to step back from their writing in fear it will fall apart--but I sometimes find that my little problems work out when I take a breather.
