View Full Version : In Alice in Wonderland, would you eat the cake,or take the shrinkiing potion?
In the Alice in Wonderland book, would you (humorously or seriously) either eat the cake that makes you big, or take the potion that makes you small and please say why, in terms of what creatively witty things you'd most like doing and getting up to, with your choice.

I think that by the time I'd got to that stage - having chased a talking rabbit in a waistcoat and fallen in slow motion down a hole into a room deep underground through the tiny doors of which I could see a sunlit garden - I'd probably be past any sensible fear of eating or drinking something that failed to carry a sell-by date or a list of ingredients.

That is a hard one, even if it is meant to be a joke. Hmmm....
Generally, I don't trust potions. They could be made with anything: cat pee, ammonia, Red Bull....A cake, of course, could have anything too--but at least you have some idea of some of the ingredients. As it is, when I get bought food at the grocery store, I sometimes find a hair that isn't mine. I always pray that it is human, and that it came from someone's head and not anywhere else.
If I were small, I'd be afraid of being stepped on and being bullied by cockroaches. I'm afraid of roaches--and I'm much bigger than they are. If I were big, I'd be trapped...and everybody could look up my dress.
Eh, I guess in Alice's case, I'd take the potion. At least I could progress and get out.

If the cake is a petit four, it's gone...I'll drink anything that doesn't glow
I would take the shrinking potion if that were my only option. I would rather shrink for self preservation. Also, I think it would be nice to sleep on a flower petal and wash in a morning dew drop...drifting away to dreamland now...
