It's hard to keep
abreast of Gods,
especially as we are
at odds.

I herd them
here and there, stone faced,
and show no favorites,
none erased.

I'm not so sure
which one I'll need,
so husband them,
for best of breed.

Perhaps Toci
should mate with Pan,
if in the end
it's best for Man.

How clever, but how can you know Toci and Pan's new breed of men would be best (for men...)? And what splits would that require! Moreover, Pan's such a nymphs' fan, doubtful he would compromise on Toci's spotted complexion...!

But who knows the paths of a heartfelt thought, especially so well put!
Mind you, in our regions, as I've recently mentioned somewhere, there was a shepherd-king who with one little stone reduced the giant Golliath to ashes.

Bravo for this one, dear hack, and you'd better establish good diplomatic relations with gods, for they are often needed!

Very well done.

I did find it amusing that a mortal would be the one guiding the gods! Where do you suppose you are herding them to?

Toci is the Mother of Gods in the Aztec pantheon.
Pan, as you probably know, is the God of shepherds.
Their union would likely produce gods, not men.
Gods have been shaped by, and molded after, men
since their earliest appearance. Their care and feeding
has always been dependent on human necessity.
Even defunct gods are presumably valuable, like an
heirloom tomato or a wild sheep, to one who would
hope to produce some new strain. Thanks for your
reads and comments...peace...
