A famous sportswriter -- I think it was Red Smith, but please don't quote me-- once said: "Writing is easy. All you have to do is sit down at the typewriter and open a vein."
Not only "easy," but lucrative, too, what with the mystifying success in recent years with all the "stuff" about plasma-addicted vampires, the "Twilight" series of books and blockbuster movies, and the wildly-popular HBO miniseries, "True Blood." I just don't get it.
But now, look at this:

Seventy-five grand for a book that literally contains the subject's blood? Jeez, if I went down to the Mission and offered sell a pint of my own precious bodily fluid, I couldn't even get 25 clams for it!
In the words of Margaret Hamilton (aka "The Wicked Witch of the West"):
"What a world!"
