A few notebook thoughts i wish to release:
I have discovered a simple way to get to
know yourself -
stare in the mirror for ten minutes
a day.
***
even when the earth no longer exists
as a physical form,
time will still remain, only it
will no longer be measured
***
You've got to do nothing every now and again,
let the future conceive of itself
and your life be played out in front of your
watching interested eyes.
and that isn't to say put your future
into the hands of other people,
but put your future into the hands of the
handless eternity. Time is easy because
it continues
without your attention or effort. Time
is not now, or even the past - it is merely
eternity. It is merely
a straight line which does not
reach round on itself but is a fixed
mark which is fixed in the void,
so no end.

A very interesting idea... I like how it is put.

Brilliant.
I have never managed more than seconds in front of the mirror before wondering who the hell was staring back. Infinity is a wonder I love to wonder about. Good job.

Hi Breathtest
Some nice observations here which admirably describe what it means to be human. To percieve, to question, to speculate and theorise. Perhapse you are right regarding time, perhaps you are not. What is definite is that as a sentient entity you think and that we are privileged to have you share your thoughts to stimulate our own.
Live long and prosper. H

I like the idea of eyes reflecting back at watchful eyes. is that sight?

Thanks guys. Yes Jerrybaldy, it is so strange to look at yourself in the mirror and it gets to the point where you almost don't even recognise yourself and you start to wonder what your consciousness is and how big is the difference between your physical self and your emotional/spiritual/psychological self. What becomes apparent to me is that our bodies are just these vessels to carry our true selves in.

what a deep gentle questioning... we mostly see memories when we look into the mirror; are memories actually us? well, I think just a little bit of us... we often see there what we want to see, disregard what we do not wish to see...
etc...
if space is being... perhaps time IS eternity.... our seeming mortality makes us count... while there are Numbers that describe both Being and Eternity... a lost knowledge that one senses wakes up in between your lines...
be very well and thanks a lot for sharing your reflections... Bar

Yes i agree and what i try to do each time i look in the mirror, is to see all of me, rather than just selective things. i think a person can get to know themselves very well just by doing this. Don't lie to yourself, be true, and look deep into your own eyes. I'm sure this part helps with maintaining eye-contact when your talking with other people, as well, because that's an important part of communication and expression.
thanks so much for reading and commenting
