Can't remember the name of this book!

I had a book as a little girl, it was a collection of short stories, or poems, by the same author. The stories were about several different fairies, (each story focused on one fairy). I can't recall much about the stories, theres is one where a fairy turns into a bird and then gets stabbed in the heart by a thorn on a bush. Another fairy travels in a flying armchair, another rides wasps....or maybe the wasps pulled the chair?

Its beautifully illustrated...

I am dying to get my hands on this book, but I can't find anything matching what little info I have.
